High-performance head studs
High-performance head studs significantly enhance an engine's capabilities by providing superior clamping force and durability compared to standard bolts. This is crucial for preventing head gasket failure under high stress conditions, as seen with increased horsepower and torque output. Head studs are made from much stronger materials ensuring they can withstand the immense pressures generated within the combustion chamber. This allows for higher compression and boost levels and ultimately, greater engine performance without compromising reliability.
- 190,000 PSI tensile strength is equal to the most demanding of applications
- Aircraft quality, 8740 chrome moly steel is used to produce premium grade, race quality head studs, right in Milodon's own plant
- Ground and thread rolled after heat treat to assure exacting tolerances
- Head studs are required where maximum gasket loading and reduced wear & tear on block threads are desired
- Head stud kits include 4130 heat treated, parallel ground washers and high strength nuts
- Milodon has 60 years of experience in quality fastener manufacturing
