Better Oil Pans Are a Necessity.

Milodon oil pans are designed to provide maximum performance for a specific application.  They are designed for the engine, the car and the use.  The engine may have a stock stroke length or a longer stroke.  The car may be different than the engine that came stock or if it was stock is there room for headers and chassis components. The use will determine ground clearance, type of oil pan baffling and oil capacity required.

Important requirements for performance oil pans include oil control to allow good oil supply, tray and scraper design to yield maximum power, increased sump capacity to assure an ample supply of lubricant at lower oil temperatures, plus design considerations such as required ground and component clearance.

- Street and Strip oil pans require more oil capacity for higher performance and RPM than when stock yet still need adequate ground clearance. While doing this they must clear crossmembers, steering, exhaust and headers and bigger crank and rods.

- Pro Touring oil pans are the buzz word of today. As most engines use stroker cranks now cubic inches are increased. Match that to cars that dropped and are rarely at stock height anymore and you have a problem. A Pro Touring pan will give stock or better ground clearance as well as increased oil capacity and control that a high horsepower engine requires.

- Drag Racing oil pans assure an ample supply of lubricant under rapid acceleration, while providing maximum  power.

- Circle Track oil pans are engineered to control oil in hard turns, long straight-aways and on rough tracks.

- Off-Road oil pans are built to deliver constant oil pressure whether its high speed across a flat or slow speed rock crawling on radical terrain.

- Marine oil pans are designed to provide an ample supply of oil and reduced oil temperatures.

Oil Pan Manufacturing and Quality

Milodon has made quality performance oil pans for over 50 years! There is no substitute for experience!

At Milodon we use only aircraft quality TIG welding as opposed to the much quicker MIG welding. Lower cost oil pans and overseas pans use MIG welding as it is easier and cheaper to use but results in a messy, lower quality weld usually with less material penetration.

Milodon oil pans go through rigorous quality control checks throughout their assembly process. Overseas factories don't know if they are making oil pans, bed pans or flower pots.  And it really does not matter to them, they just stamp them out.

Milodon understands what performance street and racing engines require...Quality and Performance. Flat oil pan rails and proper bolt hole alignment are guaranteed as every pan is 100% leak-checked and block-checked.

Milodon oil pans are plated in our trademark gold. Aside from a quality look, this plating is actually a military spec rust preventative. After an acid dip to to remove all surface imperfections, the initial coating of  zinc is applied with the cosmetic gold applied over that. Unlike painted oil pans, this gold plating can be applied inside and out to provide a totally clean and rust free oil pan. As painted oil pans can not be painted on the inside, they will be subject to loose welding debris and other contamination.
